Trunk or Treat 2013

It's been a very long week of work. Not only has it been CRAZY busy, but I put in some overtime Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday. And still had work on Monday and Tuesday. So my day off today was so relaxing, and much needed for sure. First I slept in, because I didn't have to worry about work, duh. Then, I cleaned. So sad to say but I have never been so lazy with house work, like ever. Even when Jacob and I were dating and engaged my house has never been as bad as it has lately. But it's clean now, and I plan on keeping up with it better. Silly husband and work distracting me all the time. And then I ran some errands, had lunch with my husband, and went last minute halloween shopping. And you're thinking oh halloween is tomorrow, yeah that's last minute but it's not that bad. No, I went shopping for trunk or treat TONIGHT, aka I left the house around 1 to run errands and we had to be at the church by 6. It was supposed to be easy. Jacob and I were going to be Mario and Luigi. He already had overalls, so I just needed some and to get red and green shirts and hats. No big deal, right? Wrong. EVERYONE was last minute shopping. I couldn't find hats anywhere. And finally around 4:45 I found a red shirt. So... we had to improvise. I ended up going as Mario, and Jacob went as a mechanic. His was easy because he had just gotten home from work so he just didn't change. And right as we were walking out the door he started saying something about well if you didn't throw away that red hat you could've used it. I didn't.... SO we found the red hat and it completed my costume. Yay. Now for pictures ;)

So we recently got a sam's membership. And just incase you're wondering... this is what $20 worth of candy looks like. I wasn't planning on that, but thanks sam's, thanks.

Our bedroom

Excuse the empty frames, pictures pending ;) Haha

Seriously, I don't know how we managed to fit all of our stuff in here. I thought mine barely fit.

And if you're wondering what everyone is always asking lately, how's married life?, well here is it...

Absolutely amazing. I love that our home is together. And that he never has to leave me at night. He is so good to me. He continually amazes me with little surprises like making dinner, or helping clean, and other little things that just tell me he is thinking about me. And I love it. Especially because it's well known how lazy he can be. And it's only been a month. Being married is the absolute best. Especially because I have my best friend constantly by my side. Because it's also been hard. I always like to believe I was supporting myself, but my parents did help alot. And now I'm supporting two people, well plus his income, but it was a hard transition. Not only do I know have to watch my own habits, but his too. I HATE worrying about money, and it hasn't been easy so far, and I don't expect it to be easy for a while. Especially if one day we're gonna throw kids into the bunch. But I couldn't be happier with the one I've chosen to go through it all with. Always there to help, support, and lift me. I feel so lucky to have him as my husband.

October 2013

The month started out with general conference of course. This was one of the first weekends I didn't have to work at least one of the days, so I was excited that I'd actually be able to watch all of it real time. And it's great living so close to Jacob's family, because we basically spent the weekend over there hanging out with everyone and watching conference. Michael, Kiya, and Crew are still in town, And Kim and the kids came down Saturday night through Sunday, so it was a houseful, and I loved it! Not to mention the many great message shared, I love how there's such a wide variety of people with so many different circumstances listening and watching, and yet we each hear something that is meant JUST for us. What a blessing it is to have a living prophet here on earth today, and the true restored gospel. Here's a few between session pictures...

Always a happy little boy

Corwin LOVED crew, and he loved giving him hugs. Precious :)

My husband is AMAZING. I'm so grateful for him!
One day I came home from a long day of work to a simple, but special surprise.

And he continues to amaze me each day with something new. By taking out trash, helping me clean, cooking dinner. So many little things, but that make such a difference to me.

I got a haircut! Okay it's not a huge difference, but my hair was pretty long, so it's different. And while uploading pictures, I realized that last October was when I got my last hair cut too.

I don't think the picture does justice. It was like 7 or 8 inches...

And I guess it's pretty similar to last year...

That Friday My sister came into town, and before leaving we stopped at Ford so Jacob could do a multi-point inspection on her car since she's been having some issues. When we got there I called Jacob to tell him we were there and see where we should go, and he said I come get you in a minute, something crazy just happened. When he came to the car he showed my a picture on his phone of 2 kittens... they had just found them under the engine of a car they were working on. And so we ended up taking them home.

They were so little and precious. But they we still babies. We had to feed them milk replacer in a bottle and rub their bums to make them go potty. And we both work full-time, and didn't have the time to care for them that they needed. So we decided it was best to find someone who did. So we had them for that weekend, and on Monday night we gave them away.

The Friday we found the kittens we also 'celebrated' Kiya's birthday. We had dinner at Jacob's parents house, and then went to midnight yell. Neither Jacob or me are really aggies, and in we don't go to school there. But there really is a spirit that can't be told, and one of our favorite aggie traditions is midnight yell. So it was fun to go with Kiya for her first time. And afterwards since it was after midnight and officially her birthday we sang happy birthday, and we even had people in the stands join in with us. We love A&M!

And then Saturday we surprised her with her real birthday celebration. We didn't think everyone would make it so we did one Friday night, but then everyone ended up making it anyways, so we just celebrated her birthday all weekend. It was fun. Haha.

I was told she wanted chocolate on chocolate. So thats what I made. And boy was it chocolate all right. I had to down a glass of milk afterwards. It was delish, if I do say so myself. Haha.

Happy birthday Kiya!

We have now been married for over a month, and I am so glad that I get to spend eternity with him. We're starting to finally settle in to our little house and make it a home. I love it! So far I only have pictures of the living room though, because the other rooms, are either not clean or they aren't finished... so more to come.

I didn't realize how long it's actually been since my last post. A LOT has changed :) Umm, first of all I'm married. And it's awesome :)
There was a lot to get done for the wedding and I seriously couldn't have done it without the help of my sister. She made all the million little images in my head come to life. Not to mention all the family we had there to help set everything up as well. The only thing I regret, is not being able to spend a lot of time with everyone.
Very late in the evening on September 17th, Jacob had just left my place and I had just gotten into bed to get as much rest as I could before my last day at work before the wedding. Maybe 30 minutes after he left, he called me and said he came home to a surprise at his parents house and that we really needed to FaceTime. Ok, second regret, not getting a screen shot... Lol. We turned facetime on and he was holding a baby. It didn't make since. It wasn't his nephew Corwin, they weren't supposed to be there another day, and I almost thought it was my niece Bella, who had come to texas with her parents for the wedding after all, but that didn't make since either... he was holding a little boy. Turns out it was his nephew Crew. Who had come back to the US with his parents to surprise everyone after they've been living in Jordan for the last year and a half. Crew was born in Jordan, and Jacob is very proud to be the first uncle to hold him. But that was seriously one of the best surprises ever. And I didn't get a wink of sleep that night. Between our surprise visitors and knowing that the next day after work we'd be going to Katy and in full wedding-mode, I was way too excited.
September 19th, Jacob and I both took out our endowments. Not all of the family coming in for the wedding was there, but we did get quite a few of them there with us.
And on September 20th, Jacob and I were married and sealed in the Houston Texas Temple. Best Day Yet!! I'm still waiting for all the pictures from our amazing photographer but she has posted some sneak peeks here on FB... Here's a few...

Definitely my favorite so far!

It was sprinkling towards the end of pictures. And by the time we walked to the distribution center and got inside, it immediately started pouring. And it poured pretty much the rest of the day. But I decided before hand that I wasn't going to let anything ruin that day. So I didn't let it bother me. And everything else we had planned was inside, so everything turned out perfect.
The next day we had an open house in Bryan, and it was supposed to continue to storm, but as it got closer to the open house, there less chance it was to rain. And it ended up being absolutely beautiful outside. The Lord again blessed up with a beautiful day of celebration, rain or shine ;)
And that night we left for our honeymoon... But we didn't get far, by the time we finished packing and left it was already late. We barely made it to Bastrop when Jacob said he was done driving, and I was too tired too so we just found a cheap hotel and spent the night. The next morning we had breakfast at Buccee's and heading to Canyon lake... with an hour of being stuck in 2 accidents, but we finally made it that afternoon. Here's a brief summary of it, because 1 I'm running out of time before I go to work, and 2 I can't share ALL the details ;)
Monday we spent the day shopping at the San Marcos outlet mall, and then gearing up in camping supplies at Target. Tuesday we went to San Antonio... Riverwalk, Alamo, the whole she-bang. Wednesday we drove to Enchanted rock and spent the night camping. Thursday when we got up we hiked around and up Enchanted rock, and then went back to the resort. And then we decided to come home a day early and left Friday instead of Saturday.
