August 2013

We spent a much needed get away weekend in Dallas. It started off meeting the Wallaces at the Ranger's game. Which is actually the reason we went in the first place, because they had invited us a month or so before to go with them. I'll admit it was quite stressful getting up there. We both had to leave work early, which was fine, but then we got on the road and our first major obstacle was in Riesel, a tiny little town before you hit Waco. We were going over a hill right before you hit the town and the speed limit changes, and just as we got over it we saw the cop... but it was already too late. He pulled us over... and Jacob got a ticket. So that was no fun. And then down 35 after Waco all the way to Dallas the roads were busy, but as we got about 20-30 minutes away from the field is when we hit the worst of traffic. I've seriously been in away from Houston too long, because I can't handle that kind of traffic anymore. Haha. But we finally got to the field and the rest of the night was good.

Right as we pulled the phone out to get a picture WITH the fireworks, they stopped. Of course ;)
And even though the Rangers lost, we still had a good time.

Yesterday the Wallaces came with us to my sisters house, and then we all went out on the boat.

My niece and nephew are just the sweetest, whenever I see them they always run up and hug me. I LOVE it!!

They left after tubing to get their girls and head out to see family, but we stayed out a little longer.

He sat like this most of the afternoon, he even took a nap. Haha. Towards the end he finally came to the back of the boat with everyone else.

Jacob tried so hard, he was so determined

But this is how it kept ending

He did so good with this one! I was proud, he was still upset he couldn't get up on the other one though.

Unfortunately Jacob and I didn't put any sunscreen on until it was far too late. We both hurt now. But at least my sister and Alex got to make an example out of us for the kids. As I was putting the soothing stuff on Jacob's burn Alex told them, and this is why we wear sunscreen. Haha.

For real though... it hurts.

But on the bright side... it was their stake conference so I only had to sit painfully for 2 hours.

And I had some pretty cute entertainment ;)

We had a great time with everyone this weekend. And were so grateful we got to spend time with Jonathan and Kaitlin and my sister and her family. And we are so excited we get to see them all again in a month for our wedding :))

Speaking of which... 33 days until we're married!!

And last but most certainly not least. Our sweet little puppy.
She had to stay home, Chrissy came and checked on her and made sure she had plenty to eat and drink. And thanks to my sister we brought her back a pool. (I still can't believe both walmarts in town are out!) And I'm so glad she actually likes the pool. I was a little worried.

Wedding Shower

I'm am so grateful for my sisters who put on a wonderful wedding shower for me this past week. And so grateful for everyone who was able to make it to it and help me celebrate. I seriously can't wait to marry my best friend. Unfortunately I'm short on time but I do have plenty of pictures to share. Seriously I can't begin to express my gratitude to everyone for everything!!

My sister in law hosted the shower at her house

The chalkboard was a gift from my sister Jenny

Missy made this for us

And thanks to the floral arrangement class she's taking she made these too, definitely gonna come in handy for the reception ;)

The only thing they clued me in on was the food, so this was a surprise but such a fun game. They got wedding pictures of family members and we had to order the from who was married first to who was most recently married. I knew the order of my family and the order of his family, I just didn't know how they intertwined. Happy to say I only mixed up my brother and his sister.

This was a gift from my mom

Everyone wrote a piece of advice on a rock, it was really fun reading them

So glad my grandma could make it

Before the shower they asked Jacob a bunch of questions, so at the shower they asked me and then read his answers, we answered similarly on everything except the ones where it asked who is better, or mostly likely, etc. we always answered opposite. Haha.

And of course I have some pictures from before the shower, mostly of cute nieces and nephews ;)

This is where she slept both nights we were there...

I think her favorite thing to do is roll in mud at my parents house, she seems to have done it the last couple times we've been

The kids had fun playing with uncle Stephen's hat collection

And Brody was having so much fun blowing bubbles in his cup, it was adorable

And last but not least, I was so excited to get all of our engagement pictures from Jacob's brother in law. They turned out great!! As much as I want to share them all I decided I'll do it a little at a time, so here's one for this post

Oh, only 54 more days :)
